To vectorize a layer or image select the layer and open the Vectorize menu. You can use the shortcut CMD + SHIFT + V or CTRL + SHIFT + V.
In the dialog select the desired preset or use the default and click the Convert button.
It will then begin converting the layer into vector graphics. When it is finished click the close button.
